After a couple of weeks off with our Wedding Blessing and Honeymoon, it was straight back to normal (and the cold) doing an Autosolo at North Weald. This was once again run by Sevenoaks MC. The tests were the same as the July event, but with the cold and wet it was a very different event.
I was out running in the Rover rally car, straight from its 8th place on the Bullnose rally, complete with Oxfordshire mud on the car !
After the first run i had to change to the spare tyres on the front, as the very worn Firestone's had very very little grip, a pair of 'Event' tyres (quality make i know ! ) where put on this improved things a lot. After that the times started coming down and by the end of the day i took the class win by 12 seconds, and finished 9th overall out of 36 starters. It was good to get back driving again and will hopefully prove to be a useful wake up for the Exmoor Endurance rally in a couple of weeks time.
